This is my first theme project. It is a rounded vase. The inside of the base has a black glaze, and the outside has a sandy white with black snowflakes on it. The snowflakes faded so they are hard to see. This relates to my theme because the snowflakes represent a pattern on the outside of the vase.

For my theme, I'm going to use patterns on all my projects.

 
So far this semester in ceramics, I have learned a lot more skills and techniques. I have learned how to foot my projects better and how to create unique designs in my projects when they are still wet. One new project I learned how to make are plates. So far this semester I have made many plates, and am still becoming more advanced in making them. My glazing techniques have become better and I have learned better techniques in using designs for my glaze. I have also learned more about the art element of negative and positive space. I now know that dark colors make a project look smaller, while light colors make them look larger. Some creative ideas I have learned is cutting my projects in a unique way on the top, and using different glazes to make it more creative. 
    During class I am always working hard on my project at hand. Most of the time I get my projects done on time and have time to move on to my next project. I also help beginners who have questions about something new they just learned how to do. I use my time well in this class and never get off task. Next quarter I can focus on making lidded projects, and making bigger projects as well. I will advanc
